Swedish diabetes and obesity care in the UAE 

Rashid Center for Diabetes and Research was established by the UAE Ministry of Health in June 2010 as the national reference center for diabetes and obesity treatment and research. The initiative was enabled by a generous donation from His Excellency Mr. Rashid Abdulla Al Noaimi, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs. The center is unique in terms of treatment width and depth, and offer most treatment modalities and specialists needed to treat diabetes as well as its complications under one roof. As a tertiary center, RCDR have four main responsibilities: supporting the MoH in public awareness activities, treatment of patients in need of specialist care, professional education and research
